When Jeanie B! had her two sons around the turn of the century, she found that a lot of the available children's music was very primitive sounding, stripped down. In her experience, kids love rock 'n' roll. They love to dance and laugh. She wanted to provide her kids with music that they could all enjoy together. She then put her adult music career on hold to focus on providing songs for her children. When her youngest son (at age 3) started a bedtime game where he would give her a topic and then ask her to sing a song about it, the songs just started pouring out of her. And from her folk/rock roots, Jeanie B! and The Jelly Beans were born.
Jeanie B! was raised on Folk, Rock, & Country Music and is bringing up the next generation on her special brand of it! A Billboard and Parents Choice award winner, this high energy performer has been called "Velcro for kids." Jeanie's upbeat shows are jammed-packed with dancing, sing-a-longs, and interactive music, and everyone goes home happy. Parents love her music too, and find themselves listening to her CDs even when the kids aren't around. Jeanie is also a renowned music teacher, and often folds important life lessons into the lyrics. On every level, Jeanie B! and her Jelly Beans band are a tight groove machine made of seasoned pros that will keep everyone thinking and dancing on their feet.
"I try to engage children on many levels with my music. Many of my songs are just plain fun, but I also try to teach the kids about themselves and the world a little bit too . Of course, I can't help writing the occasional love song from this Mommy's heart!
The Jelly Beans are seasoned musical pros — "I think it's very important to play with people who elevate you on every level and challenge you musically. I am probably the least educated and experienced player in my band, and I like it that way! My Beans keep me reaching higher and I love that about them! Plus, the kids love seeing a group of people who look like their parents playing Rock 'n' Roll!"
The live show is something to behold: The audience members are involved in all the songs with movements or dancing or singing of some kind. Jeanie gets down on the floor with them to shake her feet or has a jumping contest with them and has been seen providing reams of Bubble Wrap for the little jumpers to pop! For parents who don't get to go out to live music concerts much anymore, this is a great way to satisfy their need for a rockin' good time and enjoy quality time with their children!
